The pastor and the herbalist
In a quiet village surrounded by thick forest, there lived a respected pastor known for his deep faith and unwavering devotion to God. Not far from the village, an herbalist—often called an “aberlist”—was feared for his mysterious powers and dark practices. Many villagers believed he could control spirits and influence destinies.
One day, a challenge arose. The herbalist, proud of his powers, openly declared that no one in the village could stand against him. Fear spread quickly, but the pastor remained calm. He called the people together and encouraged them to trust in God, reminding them that no power is greater than the name of Jesus.
The herbalist prepared his charms and incantations, determined to prove his strength. But the pastor went into prayer, fasting and calling on the name of Jesus Christ. When the day of confrontation came, the atmosphere was tense. The herbalist performed his rituals, but nothing happened. The pastor stood firm, declaring, “In the name of Jesus, every evil power is defeated!”
Suddenly, the herbalist’s confidence began to fade. His charms failed, and his strength weakened. The power of God prevailed, and the villagers witnessed it with awe. The herbalist, humbled, realized that there is no power greater than God.
From that day on, peace returned to the village. The pastor’s faith had brought victory, proving that truly, in the name of Jesus, all powers bow.
